Joshua holds an M.F.A. in Directing for Stage and Screen from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he was a Hixson Lied Fellow. He currently works as Company Manager of Ragged Wing Ensemble Theatre and is a teaching artist with San Francisco Youth Theatre and Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre as well as Guest Lecturer at Guilford College Theatre Studies.
Along with his acting, directing and teaching work he has experience as Director of Theatre Education and Artistic Director of the GTCC Center for Creative and Performing Arts Theater 2015-2018. Artistic Director of the theatre company Theatrix, from 2011-2014. He has produced over 25 productions as well as originating the New Artists Festival Gallery, Staged Reading Series, and the Improv Troupe Spontaneous (GTCC) and Lazzi. (UNL) Joshua was given the Rex Mcgraw Theatrix Service Award for his contributions to Theatrix.
In theatre, Joshua has recieved accolades for his direction of Sarah Ruhl's comedy, Melancholy Play, which was a regional selection at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Region V. Festival. The production received meritorious awards in directing, lighting and acting.
Joshua was awarded Best Director for Theatrix 2012-2013 season.
He is a collaborative director with a strong belief in imagination, risk taking and play.
In film Joshua produced and directed the short Cubical Life by Micah Kafka which received a Creative Project Grant from the Lincoln Arts Council, a
Nebby Award for best sound design, and won Best Micro Short at the
Bare Bones International Film Festival.
Both Cubical Life and the short film Phoenix which Joshua directed have been screened at the University FIlm and Video Associations International Conference.
Joshua has performed regionally as an actor and improvisor in theatre and film.
He received best actor at the Nebby Film Festival for his work in Clocked.
Joshua is an Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors
with SPT passes in Broad Sword, Sword and Shield, Quarter Staff, Rapier and Dagger,
Small Sword, Unarmed and Theatrical Fire Arm Safety Training
Joshua also teaches classes and workshops in Acting, Movement, Directing, Theatre and Improvisation. In addition he is a 200 hour certified Classical Yoga Teacher.
